Transportation Journal is an ASCM quarterly publication. The journal is devoted to the publication of articles that present new knowledge relating to all sectors of the supply chain, logistics and transportation fields. Topics of interest include supply chain and logistics management strategies and techniques; carrier (transport firm) and contract logistics firm (third-party logistics and fourth-party logistics) management strategies and techniques; transport economics; regulation, promotion and other dimensions of public policy toward transport and logistics; and education. The journal also seeks to publish relevant and timely book reviews and industry notes.

Manuscripts published in Transportation Journal undergo a double-blind refereed process. Transportation Journal is included in major citation indices and abstract databases and has been listed in the Social Sciences Citation Index since 1970. The journal, formerly published by The American Society of Transportation and Logistics, became part of the ASCM portfolio in 2015, following the associations’ merger.
